My dream come true!

Most kids dream about growing up and becoming Bankers, or Car Salesmen, but not me, I chose to dream about growing up to be a comic book artist, more specifically, a Marvel Comics Comic book artist! Well, that hasn't quite happened, but, I'm fortunate enough to be doing 1000 Marvel Masterpiece II cards for Upper Deck. Here's a sample...

More to come as they're approved!

Mine was to devise a way to put cheese into a hot dog. Unfortunately those bastards at Oscar Meyer beat me to it.

Congrats on yours.

Yukon that is just an awesome post and idea. The two more glorious things on earth joining forces. But ask yourself...what else can cheese join forces with? The dream isn't dead man.

Rich...those are some great cards. These are going to be a really cool series.

phenomenal work! i love your style grafted onto the classic marvel icons.

i always wondered how these sketch cards work...so, if i'm getting this correctly, you have to hand produce 1000 of these, right? man, that seems like a lot of work...which is awesome for you!

if i was to do 1000 of these i'd pick the lamest heroes marvels got and about 800 of them would be speedball

Yeah, Rich, how long does it take to draw 1,000 of these? Seems like it would be endless.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words...

Sketch Cards are a ton of fun, and easy to get into... you choose how many cards you can do, anywhere from 25 - 5000 (I'm guessing) The company sends you blanks, and you pencil, ink, color, paint, whatever you want to each card... now here's the kicker, you only get $1.00 - $1.50 a card, so it's not much money... but like everything else I do, I don't do it for the money, I do it because I love the subject.

1000 cards isn't that bad, I've got 2 months to do them, I did 800 Lord of the Rings cards in less than a month, it's really not that bad, and the Marvel Universe has way more characters than the LOTR universe, so it's much more fun to do!

Holy crap, Rich, these are great! I just found out what the hell a sketch card was about...3 minutes after reading your posts here and then doing some research because I'm clueless. That's pretty darn cool. I like how Vision and Scarlet Witch are both shaming someone just off-panel there. Heh.

I wanted to pop in here and let you know I ripped off Cory's sketch-a-day thing (of which I'm dreadfully behind on updating!) and drew a Johnny Raygun a while back and was hoping you'd check it out. Yes?

Also--is it too late to suggest a Batroc the Leaper for this thing you're doing?
